Akron manages to ge the win at Buffalo but does so giving up more points and scoring less than Colgate did two weeks ago in the same stadium. Akron continues to play uninspired, sloppy football, keeps starters in for stat purposes, and has put together a three game win streak against bad teams.

Enter Miami. A team which has beat Cincy and Colorado State and will have a big homecoming crowd on hand for the Zip team this weekend.

This game will start off slow but Miami will score at least 50 points on the BAD Zip defense. Frye is getting hit way too often against the likes of Howard, EMU, Kent State and Buffalo. With a real defense coming at hime this week it could be the last game for 5 for a while, which means 7 could be in the pocket for a few weeks. All it takes is one good hit.

Frye and Hendry are the only stand alone weapons of this offense. There are a lot of receivers but they have to have 5 to throw them the ball. There is no solid backup at running back. Where did the recruits go from the past 4 years? Why is there no depth? Where is Carter, Plummer, or anyone else.

Zip football has also got to end the stupid penalties. This is a reflection of poor coaching and lack of being mentally prepared to play.

The cream puff part of the schedule is over. Here comes the hurt.

Miami 65
Akron 21

Plummer is off the team and Carter is hurt.

5 is used to taking hits and has taken them his whole career - why get injured now?

I don't care who we play - no defense can stop Akron's offense and the Zips have proven it time after time. It all depends on the defense.

Kent State was no slouch, Realist - they just got done beating UCF this past Saturday, and I don't call Wisconson a cream puff either.

I'm feeling mighty optimistic this week, as I did when the Zips beat Marshall last year......

OK, R, post with content, good job.

Where is Carter and Plummer? You should know, they quit, like you. Well, maybe one of them quit, and the other got himself in personal trouble (like you also). BTW, it's where ARE Carter and Plummer.

You're getting better. Seriously, give us content. Good Job.

Ahh, The weekly Owens watch. I actually look forward to it now. Just like a good evangelist we place a few facts at the beginning and the end and then throw crap in the middle.
