I'm on the Chronicle of Higher Education's database for Gender Equity in college sports. I'm at WKU's page.
In 2002-2003, the avg. salary for a head coach of a men's team was reported by WKU as $49,678. The avg. salary for an asst coach of a men's team was reported as $33,980.
In 2003-2004, the avg. salary for a head coach of a men's team was reporte by WKU as $477,614. The avg. salary for an asst coach of a men's team was reported as $604,720. THAT CANNOT POSSIBLY BE RIGHT, CAN IT????
Maybe someone made a mistake and those are the total amounts paid for salaries instead of averages. 8 head coaches/477,614 = $59,701. 14 asst coaches/604,720 = $43,194. That seems more reasonable.
Boy you folks must have an awful lot of faith in Horn and your FB coach. Doesn't explain the asst coach salaries though. Heir apparents?????
