Akron Football is dead. A winning season is still possible in name only because CMU and Ohio are awful teams and those are the types of games Akron wins. Put Akron up against a team with talent and they either get blown out like last night or choke like last week. Worse yet you have games like Kent State where Akron chokes against a team with no talent.
There is no reason to expect anything different for next year or anytime in the future. This is Akron Football and it is just plan bad.
At least basketball season is about to start where the team will disappoint but will beat a few good teams along the way to give us hope.

Last post!!!!!! Don't be a fair-weather fan! Look at ZRB and UBFan77. They follow a team that wins 1 to 2 games a year.
Believe it or not, Toledo had some tough years where they were lucky to win 1 or 2 games a season. Many of our fans stuck it out. Don't give up on your team.....they can turn it around and it is a lot more satisfying when you know that you stuck it out through the bad times!

Rocket, while I appreciate your empathy for us, most of us will not have any hope until we are rid of the piece of sh** coaching staff.
UA would have a great fanbase if the team could start winning on a regular basis against quality teams.
I sued to go to alot of games, but now 2-3 per year.
I am tired of this staff.
They are the worst in DI football.

Fair weather I am not. I, just like BuckZip, am tired of getting dumped on by Owens and his mental midgets.

I must agree with the Zips fans here. I live in the Akron area and Owens has done nothing in the 9 years he's been there. So Akron tied Marshall for the East division in 2000...what else? Nothing.
And if the Zips started winning big, the Rubber Bowl would pack the crowds in!
Every year in the Beacon Journal Owens talks about this yr's team is the best yet...and doesn't do anything. How does he still have a job? Akron has one of the easiest skeds ever and yet stand at just 5-4? If I was a Zips fan, I'd be po'ed beyond belief that he is still there!
Owens needs to go....he's had more than enough time.

Actually the Zips are a miserable 5-5 with the worst schedule in the country.
