Rickey Bustle liked what he saw when his Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns reported back for fall practice over the weekend, and three days of practice have done nothing to change his mind.

The Cajuns remained energetic and focused despite a steamy day of high humidity during Thursday's practice, maintaining a tone set before drills even began.

"From the first night, when you could tell they were happy to see each other in that first meeting, the spirit has been high around here," Bustle said. "They're bouncing through. Check with me in a week to see if that continues.

"I thought our special teams were pretty good today. We had some blocks, and I thought we protected well. I liked the effort and concentration we had today. That breeds a lot of good things."

The Cajuns, clad in helmets and shoulder pads, staged situational scrimmage plays before finishing the day with conditioning windsprints and positional meetings later in the evening.
