I see really tough road games at EKU, UAB, Bradley, CF, and Arizona. Man, if we could just get to the Sun Belt part of the schedule with no more than two losses, it could be a season for the ages. Check back in early January, after potential injuries and the obligitory adjustment period to new players ends, and we will know for sure. Adub and Clee will most likely have to provide the leadership early on.

While I'm sure that we will lose some games this year there is not one game on the schedule that you have to write off as an automatic loss. Also, it would be hard to script a better schedule to prepare this team. Two relatively easy home games to start. Perfect. We will need that time to sharpen our new point gaurds and young big men and then on to what could be a huge confidence builder against against an SEC team. Then the first tough road swing. Since UAB has had some success at a system similar to the one we are trying to play, I think we win that game just by playing it. Even if UAB beats us its a game that shows us the way to the promise land. At Eastern... if they lose this one... (chuckles) thats gotta hurt. The possiblility of two wins in Tuscon seems premature... but thats what is so great about the preseason... we're undefeated and anything is possible. By the way... if we play the Wildcats in the tournament in AZ does that count as neutral or as a road game for RPI? The Central Florida game could be HUGE for RPI. A neutral loss against CFU and a neutral win against Sam Houston would be significantly worse RPI for us than a neutral win over CFU and a road loss against AZ. Anybody know exactly how that works? Plus, obviously if by some chance we pull of the upset... hello top 25.

I think that somewhere around the UAB or EKU game there will be a moment for this team... kind of like in the movie The Matrix where Larry Fishborne says to surfer dude, "you're faster than this..." and then surfer dude suddenly realizes just how good he is. And then the other guys are like, "I've never seen anyone go that fast!" Well you get the idea. It would be especially nice if that happened in Tuscon or Richmond.

I'm really looking forward to the Denver - WKU showdown. I have a friend in Denver that would probably put me up for a few days... and I've never been skiing... hmmm.

Regular season prediction: 24-3 with losses at EKU, Arizona and MTSU. Fla Int. though improved will not come in under the radar again.

Correction to the schedule. We play at Denver on Thursday, Feb. 9th, not the 8th.
