I just want Pruett to stay in the MAC for the 2004 season so the Rockets can beat the chit out of that miserable ba$tard again. You know he is so ugly that if you hit him in the face with a baseball bat it would actually improve his looks.

herdon1 Wrote:This conference $ucks, this is the first year since its inception, that the mac has done well other then Marshall and now you all pound your chests and proclaim that you are one of the best conferences in the country 03-lol

Marshall made this conference, Pruett is the best coach in this conference[ check his record] and you guys are so bush league that it almost is comical. Next year, you guys will fall back to loserville.

Marshall has a young team, a thrid string qb and some problems with injurys. We will be back, what about you. The Mac is an after thought in college football, two bowls and a crappy tv contract.

The mac $ucks, be gone with your lame @sses. 03-lol  03-lol  03-lol
blah..blah..Pruett is a scumbag and dirty...give it 5 years and Marshall will be on probation for NCAA violations. The MAC was already made before you joined our conference(for the second time)..at least you are leaving on your own instead of being kicked out like before.

Now I see the excuses come out about 3rd string QBs, a young team, injuries, etc etc etc ...Kind of sucks when the well runs dry of Pennington's and Leftwich's, huh?

Never saw any posts that said we were the best conference in the country, but I will say the MAC is better than Convict-USA. Both Marshall and UCF the day they made it known they were leaving for C-USA is the day that both programs took a step backwards. Yea yea so you will make more money, who cares..can't see how either team will get any credibility coming into a league where all that is left is C-USA bottom feeders.

Seems like when the announcement was made to goto C-USA, you guys already had your tickets bought for a one way ticket to, how did u say it? Ah Yes, Loserville.<---Don't misread that as Louisville, because they won't be there next year.

I hope UCF destroys Marshall - no disrespect to any Marshall fans intended, but I'm not too keen on your coach. I have nothing against the fans, I think they're great actually. I wish all of the MAC teams fans could cheer in unison as do your fans at home games. Really is neat. But, back to my point - your coach does suck :D Go UCF!

First off, the truth is that Marshall does have rabid fans, and travels well. Fine, but this notion they love to perpetuate that "ONLY" the Herd travels in the MAC is pure "poppycock" (how's that for an old-fashioned word?).

The fact is that some MAC teams don't have good attendance at all, much less "traveling fans", but any number of MAC programs not only travel but have huge alumni bases in major midwest cities. I keep hearing Herd fans deride the MAC for not supporting their teams, but how about Toledo's support of the MCB in their visits there, and the MAC didn't travel all that badly in the old Fresno and Vegas Bowl days. The problem with those bowls (particularly Vegas) was that they had poor local sponsorship and no local fans.

The Herd fans on the Vine speculated how 5K would come to the big Miami game in Oxford last week............970 bought tickets out of Marshall's 2K allotment. Not bad, but remember, it's their fans (and Head Coach) that are doing the bragging. BG brought over 3,000 fans, and the difference in the attendance between the two games was due to the crowd that BG brought. Also, the Marshall game in Oxford was our 3rd best (out of 5) attended game............the UC and BG games were bigger crowds.

Lastly, Miami took over 8,000 fans (some local like me) to Evanston to the NU game, and by all accounts very good crowds to CSU this year, and OSU and Vandy in past years...........these figures are all discounted by Herd fans even when they are reported by local media and in person attendees like Dodo and myself.

Bottom line: Yeah, the Herd travels pretty well, but Pruett is way off base here, and he knows it.

With Marshall set to leave, Miami can rest easy with a tough MAC East
Kent State,Buffalo,Akron and Ohio will all be competing for a MAC East title.

Oddball is right on the money. I really wouldn't mind seeing Pruett go to Confederate USA before the 2004 season.

Flipper, I recall browsing the Herd message board shortly after the CUSA done-deal fell through about a year ago. One of their posters compared 'CUSA Rejection Day' to 9-11 and Pearl Harbor in terms of catastrophies.

A few weeks ago, one poster compared his own mission of getting Marshall out of the MAC to Martin Luther King Jr's fight for civil rights in the 1960s.

I kid you not.

That quote was the most despicable thing I've heard out of a coach in my years. Insensitive, ignorant and down right disgusting. If I were a Marshall fan, I would have called for his head right there just for being an ignoramus.

Of course you losers wouldn't mind seeing Pruett leave, he has the most wins in the mac, best percentage[ before all you historians start bringing up your moldy oldy records].

He has out coached, out talked and can out eat[ other then jobba the pizza hut] any coach in the mac. Hell he has the longest tenure of any current coach. Now that shows stability in this power house league.

Bye Bye MAC, we will take our rings and leave you with the smack. 04-rock [Damn I'm funny]
