This just in: Civil War recount over and, despite efforts to refight battles on football fields, recruiting (when is the recruiting national championship game anyway?), and attendance issues, the North still ******ing won.

We believe in regionally based conferences. Or, to put it less elegantly, go play with yourselves -- preferably on the CUSA board.

The moniker of Torch didn't come from the illustrious Johnny Storm. It started when I was working at UGa, and provided a reminder to all the giddy olympic fans of a time when another torch went thru the state at the hand of an earlier great Ohioan.


BTW, I believe Notre Dame has more Heisman winners than Ohio State.

But, the MAC does need to recruit from FL, GA and preferably PA and CN, because despite the rich talent, it gets divided up to thinly. 8 Div IA teams, a very good IAA team and scads of the top III teams. Plus, Mich, ND, Penn St, Pitt, Wake, Kansas and others recruit the state hard.

Yes Notre Dome has 7 winners and Ohio St has 6 winners.
