Well, the offense had a terrific day, as Kent Smith completed 17/30 passes for 304 yards and two TDs, with no turnovers. 04-rock With starting tailback Jerry Seymour hindered by that sore hip from the MSU game, backup Spencer Lewis did just fine, rushing 28 times for 135 yards and a TD. WR Damien Linson had a huge game, returning a punt 66 yards for a TD and had multiple catches, including a TD. I'll post his exact stats when I get 'em.

Defensively, we got flagged three times for personal fouls and allowed SEMO to score at least one TD more than necessary. SEMO WR Oge Oge got away with a push-off in catching a TD pass. The final Indian TD was against Chippewa reserves with CMU leading 44-20. On the positive side, CMU got two sacks and an interception and pressured Arizona State transfer QB Adam Goodenough on several other occasions.

Special teams did well, forcing SEMO to start deep in its own territory due to great kick coverage. In addition to the punt return TD, James King blocked an XP. We had one of our extra points blocked, but did hit a field goal to provide the final scoring for CMU.

The team can now go into the bye week feeling pretty good, Jerry has ample time to heal, and we may have just decided on a starter for the season. Now, if Kent can just play that well against Kent State! 04-rock
