I love NIU with all my heart, but this football team continues to prove it's a massive waste of time. They do fantastic when it doesn't matter, but can never win the big game. We had the MAC west in our hands and now we have to rely on Omar Jacobs and BGSU to win the west for us. Toledo is our daddy and they always will be. If we win the west, everybody send gift baskets to BGSU, I'll pay.

One good thing is that there are no home games left. The attendance would have been terrible at best. No way you get people tp show up after a complete meltdown like that.

Could be worse, you could have had a class cancelled and a presentation postponed only watch an utterly depressing game in the freezing cold. I'd rather my presentation be done right now.

I hear ya red black. I got a test tommorrow. Decided to tailgate and make this a great night, then had to witness a complete collapse by both an offense and defense. One of the worst second halves of football ever. Josh Haldi just didnt really have it either. Man, i just want to talk to this defensive coordinator of ours and ask him why he refuses to run anything but a four three. Even on like 2nd and goal from the 4 hes runing a four three. it boggles my mind. Toledo compelted so many passes underneath coverage it was ridiiculous.

I'm not sure we'd be good at anything else...A thin line, clearly a very thin secondary. What do you want us to run?
I saw we were in the nickle a few times, but clearly that did not work when it was on the field. I'm curious what you would like on the field?

He doesn't have any idea, he just knows that it didn't work.
Seriously, Tropes, what do you suggest?

Well, this "defense" has been victimized all year, we've just been lucky enough to have the O to get past it. Either the defensive coordinator is a certifiable mental retard, or we simply don't have the personnel to run anything but a 4-3, even against a spread offense. Putting LBs on WRs hasn't worked all year, didn't work last night and won't work in the future. I've never seen a team so afraid of throwing a nickel back out there. And seriously, did the team even scout Toledo? They ran the ****** they always run and gained 10 yards a play every time. Obviously the coaches didn't pay attention to the Miami game, or any other film. Toledo runs a roll out a lot, and we never once had a guy stay at home to bust up a play like that.
Now, had Sheldon caught that pass at the beginning of the second half, it would have been a completely different game, hell we might have even won. But you've got to roll with the punches, and NIU went down like a little ***** last night, like Roy Jones Jr. type ***** (if you follow boxing). If we get to a bowl game, we owe it to ourselves not to get too hyped up for it, cause chances are we won't know what the hell we're up against anyway. Late.
