I have been ranting on this site tonight to some posts, and I apologize. Few things I need to ask/say.
How did the crowd look on TV, I was there and couldnt tell exactally.
Defenese needed to put more pressure on Gradkowski, and play some more man. It seemed as though the zone was just getting shredded.
I dont feel the loss of GW hurt us, but more the lack of execution (dropped passes, poor play calling, missed blocks0 hurt us on offense.
Lets just root for BG (unfortunately). I think they can and will beat Toledo.
Lets give the Rockects credit wher credit is due. They kicked our butts. They did their homework an knew how to beat us.
Hopefully things work out and we get the MACC and a bowl. Who cares how we get there as long as we get there. Thoughts?

I dont know mrfdog, I think the loss of GW really had a huge psychological effect on the team, especially Haldi. I'm beyond disappointed with GW, he really let his team down.

Mentally he may have effected us. True what he did was stupid and irresponsible.

Maddawg i'm going to say what i always say about your posts, you are way off...
JOSH HALDI SENIOR QB...he should lead this team not have to complain about a soph. running back not being there. He knew he wasn't going to be there so whatever suck it up. AJ is a good to very good running back. Josh just ******ed up. Our defense just ******ed up.
Wolfe ******ed up too...but he didnt lose a game he didn't play in.

Having Wolfe in the lineup wouldn't have made the difference. But what happened this weekend had to have had a mental effect on this team. They were let down by one of their best players - that has to effect the team, especially the seniors that have worked so hard for so long to get to this point, and the to be let down by a careless, selfish twerp....ugh. I think what it does is makes adversity harder to overcome - this is a team that has been great at not panicking and coming from behind, so last night was out of character when only down 7 points. I can't help but think it had a lot to do with mindset at that point.
I didn't think the D played horribly, but they could not stop the run at all. That led to long, time consuming drives and great play-calling kept 'em off guard. They never got a rest - UT had the ball nearly 42 minutes!
What disappointed me more than anything was the OL falling apart and Josh not looking settled. It seemed that once UT believed that Josh wasn't going to be very accurate, they put all the pressure on the running game and we couldn't respond.

(1) Critical play with the overthrow to a wide open Sheldon for a TD to start the second half. That changed the entire complexion of the game.
(2) We could not do a thing on offense in the second half. They stuffed our bread and butter run play.
(3) Haldi with some bad passes. He kept moving his arms between plays. Arm hurt??
(4) Powers drops a first down pass with no one on him in the second half.
(5) Haldi takes sacks instead of throwing the ball away.
(5) Our DB's can't cover anybody. I have said that for two years now.
(6) Our DE's get stuffed on every bootleg
(7) Our LB's lack speed
(8) We are undersized on the DL
(9) We left the TE uncovered everytime they ran the bootleg to our left.
(10) The no huddle seemed to confuse us on defense. they would make their subsitutions and lined up right away causing us to sometimes not have the right defense called and/or the wrong personnel in the game.
(11) No pressure from the front 4 all night. Gave their QB too much time to sit and wait for his receivers to get open and with our coverage being weak there was always someone open.
(12) We open the game with "trick plays" instead of trying to establish our basic offense. That to me just told Toledo that we felt that we could not compete.
Needs for next year:
More speed on defense
More size inside DL's

The loss of GW hurt a lot more that I expected. The key word is chemistry. The offense with GW flowed so well. It seemed the O had more confidence.
Losing GW a couple days before the biggest game of the year...a huge disadvantage.
Its not the reason why we lost, Toledo I thought had a great gameplan (our gameplan) but its a contributer.
