I thought SIU was going to go all the way to the Div 1AA championship. I guess i was wrong:
<a href='http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=243320079' target='_blank'>http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gam...ameId=243320079</a>
I am a little disappointed. :(

I saw that the attendance in Carbondale was only 7,000 +. The weather was brutal but that still is a poor attendance for a tournament game.

Isn't this the second time in a row they lost in the first round?

The playoff game was not at the best time... Most students were away at home for Thanksgiving break. I'm sure they could have doubled their attendance from student population alone.
On the other hand, I doubt that SIU will ever have strong attendance. They are geographically undesirable. NIU benefits from being so close to Chicago. Carbondale is in the middle of no where. Hats off to them for back to back strong seasons, however.
