OK I am taking back what I said this win is huge, the team is already overcoming obstacles this early in the season, cant have a letdown this weekend against CSU.
We played Flashes bball for a solid 5 min at the end and it was more than they could handle.
Thankfully the porr free throw shooting by the Jays didnt allow the refs to decide this one!!!!!!
Great job guys!!!!

I wasn't listening, though your comments made it sound like it was an ugly game for a while. Regardless, this is a really great win that could put KSU in the mid-major top ten. I'm totally pysched for the rest of the season 04-rock

I think it might be right now. There are some huge games coming up later. Two against Miami and Buffalo that will ultimately decide the East.

This is by far the biggest OOC game of the year for the MAC.

BC at the Gund was pretty big. So was last years win on national TV, but this is nice.
When it comes down to it, it doesnt matter because if we do get ranked and then lose one conference game to Akron or someone we will drop like a rock. Good win anyways and hopefully it will give the team the confidence to win bigger games down the road, such as the MAC championship!

Got to add this quote from the Creighton message board, one for the archives:

And that's a compliment. Creighton will be around this year. Very, very good RPI win.

The Bluejays were ranked 29th in the AP poll with 81 pts. Is Needle right that they have only lost 2 games at the Qwest center?

Hats off to Kenst St. You guys played a great game on the road and obviously were the better team. Your guys stepped up and hit some big shots tonight. Too bad we couldnt have made a better series of it. i dont know what his name is but I think #23 was the difference in the game. He continually broke down our guards and made a play when they needed it. He's got some quicks. Good luck the rest of the season. Hopefully we can get a rematch in the NCAA. 04-bow

We would love that! How about in the Elite 8?
Thanks for the nice words. #23 is DeAndre Haynes, our version of McKinney. As the Fla. St. assistent coach said after our game with them, Haynes "...is a big-time college point guard."

It was a big compliment. Dana Altman is a top-rank coach and they have one of the best mid-major (I know people hate the term, but it's reality) programs in the country. Great fan support, too. I think they are in the top 10 of enrollment-to-attendance. Not that big of a school and they avearge over 12k per game. Granted, not a lot of competition for the sports dollar in Omaha, but still, they've built a great thing out there.

hey, CUJays...good luck the rest of the season. Hope we don't run into you in March. By the way, beat the Salukis, would you? They have the most obnoxious fans who need a good dose of humility.

It seems Haynes gets recognition and praise just about everywhere he goes. Great to see him and the rest of the team bounce back from a subpar first half!!!!!
