After an ugly first half for both teams, the Flashes scored 56 second-half points to beat Marshall 78-62. In the first half, three starters had two fouls and a reserve had three fouls, but because of defense, the Flashes still had a 22-21 lead.

Then Lindsay Shearer scored 15 of 21 points in the second half. Sophomores Kerrie James and Tiffany LaFleur both started and have shown huge improvements. James had all 11 of her points in the second half, and LaFleur is a great weapon defensively at 6-6. She also had 10 points as she gets better offensively little by little.
