Golden Flashes Host Buffalo Wednesday In MAC Contest
The Kent State University men’s basketball team hosts the University at Buffalo, Wednesday, Jan. 19, in a critical Mid-American Conference showdown in mid-January. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Golden Flashes look to stay near the top of the MAC East Division and also will attempt to stay over .500 in MAC play when they meet the Bulls. Both the Golden Flashes and Bulls have 3-3 MAC records, sitting a half-game behind Miami in the MAC East.

Sophomore Scott Cutley has scored 33 points in the last two games, by far the most points he has scored in consecutive games in his career. It also is the third-highest back-to-back scoring total of any KSU player this year, behind only Kevin Warzynski’s 37 and Jason Edwin’s 35 earlier this year.

The Bulls are tied with Kent State and Akron in the MAC East Division, a half-game behind Miami for first place. Against the RedHawks, Roderick Middleton had 17 points, while Turner Battle scored 16 points to go along with five rebounds. On the year, Battle leads the team averaging 14.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Series History vs. Buffalo
Kent State leads the all-time series with Buffalo 13-2, including a 7-0 mark in games played in Kent. However, the Bulls scored their second-ever victory against Kent State in the last meeting between the teams (see box score on page 4). Last year’s meeting in Kent, a 79-75 KSU win, was the closest Buffalo has played the Golden Flashes in the M.A.C. Center. Third-year Kent State coach Jim Christian is 3-1 all-time against Buffalo.
