11-4, 5-2 MAC sucks? BG women, 12-5, 5-1 MAC in 1st place sucks? We have more MAC titles than you in men's and women's hoops.

And a Flash fan ripping on BG football?????
Sure we had some down years in the late 90's, but unlike Kent, we don't stay down. 51-15-5 is the all time series between us, including BG winning the last 24 outta 26...yep, BG football sucks!

Ya gotta be kidding me. BG OWNS Kent in every sport except baseball....

When was the last time Kent actually won a title in football???? Their ONLY one? 30 years ago??

Nice try... 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol
FF90--FYI:
Flashy is an Akron troll trying to masquerade as an Kent flamer. For now. 05-nono
AND he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Oh....thanks for setting me straight. Sorry for my rant. I really need to take this stuff less seriously!

Great sports. Division I sports right in the heart of town. Minor league baseball in a beautiful new park. Pro football HOF 20 minutes to the south. And again, drive 30 minutes north and you're at Jacobs field, Browns Field or the Gund.

Extensive arts. EJ Thomas and the Civic book huge broadway shows and national speakers on a consistent basis. The Carousel and Weathervane validly boast numerous high quality productions, and there are several excellent local theatre houses. Of course, living in Akron you always have the option of driving 30 minutes north to get to Playhouse Square. We've got great access to concerts with Blossom in Summit County and of course the Cleveland venues like the Gund and the IX Center.

Recreation. Cuyahoga Valley National Park runs right through Summit County. The Metro Parks right in town is something like 8000 acres with many extensive running and bike trails. There's skiing and snowboarding 20 minutes to the north. We've got Six Flags. And don't forget Firestone Golf and the NEC - and numerous beautiful golf courses abound in this area.

Housing costs are really reasonable. You get a mansion here in a stately part of town for very little. Shopping is great, restaurants abound. Renovated downtown is now the hip place to be.

The quality of life in Akron is excellent, and those who live here know it.
It's interesting that most of things you listed are outside the city of Akron.

Please know of what you speak before you post. Both parks go through Akron. The Aeros stadium is in downtown Akron. Akron Athletics are in Akron. EJ Thomas and the Civic are in Akron. Carousel and Weathervane are in Akron. Firestone and the NEC are in Akron. And most of the other things listed are in Summit County. Now if you want to try to come up with some semblance of anywhere near the amenities Akron has to offer in the little blip called Kent, go right ahead.

Hey, many Kent State University staff, faculty and students call Akron and/or Summitt County home. They are smart enough to take advantage of it's amenities as they work, teach or go to school 10 miles to the east.

You are not one of us. You forgot to log on as Flashy this time.

If you are going to hold Kent State University responsible for actions of a few rogue, inexperienced National Guardsmen in the 1970's, you stand alone in history - which is not that much of a surprise. If you ever come out of your bunker, you'd know that history treats Kent State as much as a victim as those eleven citizens shot because they disagreed with our government over a unjust war. Besides, history now shows the Vietnam was was unwinnable, certainly the way we were fighting it, and those kids objecting to the war were right. And they were right iin 1970.

If you are going to assign a delusional, forty year old madman who breaks into home miles off campus in the middle of the night on a killing rampage to the responsibility of the University I am going to hold the University of Akron responsible for you. And frankly, I doubt they'd want that. You've both got the delusional, irrational part down.

BLOhio faithful slamming anyone is really rich, as their school pays coaches the most in the league and loses year in and out to the Flashes and Zips. BLOhio fired a winning coach in Larry Hunter to hire Tim O'****** for more than 225K per year = nothing of note. Now you go out to the finosaur barn and dig up Frank Solich... nothing like a 62-year old to raise the bar, but coming from Knorr even Barney Fife, or for that matter big purple Barney would look good.

BG basketball sucks and your football has been good for 3 years... uh, wow... not.

Miami... you win back to back MAC East titles and cannot average 15,000 fans. Nice past but where are you now?

Toledo... Props to you for moving it up - football is strong and basketball is average... Don't see the big difference is between Akron and Toledo city wise and Akron has more major companies HQ'd in the heart of Downtown so you are behind there for sure. You are closer to Cedar Point and you have Stan Joplin, who I really loved in Blazing Saddles.
You are forgetting that Tim Conway went to BG. David Letterman to Ball State and Bill Cosby to Temple.

Did Traficant go to Kent??
