Akron 79-64 over BSU. Stovall and Trammel were gunning some threes for BSU but Akron's double digit lead through most of the game held up. Romeo Travis had a big night. The 1st half press and the overall defense was the difference.
On to Oxford to see what type of team we can be.
Go Zips.

The fact that Ball State's best inside player, 2nd leading scorer and leading rebounder was in street clothes with a shoulder injury might have had a little something to do with this also. Congratulations on a nice win anyway. Maybe we'll meet again in Cleveland.

Boo hoo. The fact that Akron's best rebounder, 2nd leading scorer and last year's MAC Freshman of the Year was lost FOR THE YEAR a month ago must have had an impact as well. Check the numbers, BSU won the boards and lost the game because they could not handle the pressure D.

I knew BSU would throw a fit because of that player out. Well we lost one too. BSU fans should shudder to think what it would have looked like if Jeremiah Wood had not been hurt after only ten games this season.

Good point....I think Akron is a very legit MAC title contender...without Wood for the year makes it even more impressive!
Big road games with Miami and Bowling Green coming up. Look out MAC East! The Zips are for real!
