If anyone knows, I would be interested in who has the all time best attendance average throughout the years?

I was at all but #s 1 & 6. Still remember sitting in the aisle during the OSU NIT game in 1986...

It is interesting to note that those are all MAC games excepting the games against Kentucky and Ohio State. Sure wish we could play 'State more often.

I don't have the figures, but I'm sure OU and BSU would be the top two draws over the long haul.....back in the 70's when Toledo was very good they had excellent attendance, and of course despite the relatively small arena Kent has drawn well the last decade. Also, despite the disappointment of their program since re-entering the MAC, Marshall always usually draws well, too.

It was just a matter of time!

Check out the model with the GreenFootball helmet! Priced at 11.99 and affordable to most OU grads!

I don't want to make excuses, because OU's attendance really should be better (and I think it will be up substantially after the next 2 home games)...

However, OU has switched to only counting bodies in the seats, not total tickets sold. My understanding is that we are the only school to do this in the MAC for b-ball. If not, we're certainly one of the few. So the drop in attendance is partially attributable to our recent struggles, and partially to our accounting mechanisms.

That having been said, this team is really starting to come together, and the community is starting to take notice. We should have 7-8,000 for WMU today, and as much or more for Miami next Saturday. With the returning talent we have next year, OU's attendance should be back at/near the top.

I was at #4 on this list 1994 vs Miami. Great all-time MAC matchup Gary Trent vs Devin "dredlocks" Davis. Even the upper bowl was filled that game.

The last couple of years have been really down for Ohio in attendance. When Ohio had a squad ranked #5 in the nation during the 1969-70 season big numbers were there. Big numbers during the Trent and Hunter years. The potential to average 10,000 is there if Ohio became a consistant top 25 threat.

You'd be hard pressed to find a school who can seat 10,000 who wouldn't draw those numbers if they were a consistent, your word (spelled incorrectly I might add) not mine, Top 25 threat? That's not really saying much.

Thats saying a good deal if you are a Gonzaga like threat for the top 25 year in and out. If Ohio ever became that good the crowds would be great.

And if Ball State could become that consistently good, its crowds would be that good, too. Virtually any team with an arena that seats 10,000-plus would enjoy crowds of 10,000-plus if they were on that level.

Ohio had 7,100 plus today. We are not top 25; however, given a good product Ohio University fans will ome out and support their team. Last years team was 10-20 overall and was sub-par for Ohio standards. Even in that down year we still be out a Kent State team that had a string of 20 win seasons. The low attendence year to date is misleading, because Ohio Students weren't in session for the first four home game, and a 0-2 start to the MAC didn't light a fire under the student body. The Big win over Kent State showed that last year was last year. The last two Saturday had a combined 12,000 plus. Next Saturday could be one of the biggest crowds in MAC history. Ohio has a tv game on Monday at BG. This team has all kinds of talent. This team is young, but the talent is championship calibur. Ohio made plays to win today. Great teams make the breaks that give them a chance to win the game. Steals is a stat that is not talked about much; however, it is a stat that is pure talent. Fears has picked the pocket of so many MAC guards this year. Fears and Troutman have won games this year with their defense. Sure Ben Reed had his 27 pts today, but look at the turnovers folks. Ohio forces a ton of turnovers. The Kent State, Toledo, BGSU, and Buffalo games had a simliar stat line. high turnovers. You wouldn't have guessed which team had the freshman point guard today. Fears had like 8 assist an 1 turnover. Sure his shot is shaky, but he can really play.
