You really think it's a bad idea?
I'm not sure I could put into words how wildly unrealistic that idea is.
It will be part of my gubernatorial platform, along with
-Much tougher laws regarding ID theft
- Revamping the state tax code (particularly for businesses), getting a sensible code and not throwing out a bunch of waivers (which ends up hurting everybody and helping nobody)
- Using small grants to fund undergraduate applied research/work for specific projects.
i.e. Getting a small team of (4) undergrads to set up a Beowolf super-computer using computers in their school's excess. Then expand that to each state university. You get graduates w/ marketable skills, each university now has access to a new supercomputer at a budget cost, and you clean up some of the excess.
Plus, I think hyping the Yankees analogy might sway some people.

And before I hear from the pseudo-libertarians (like the bucknuts morons) on this, Ohio State has been subsidized by the state for years! With this tOAMU developed as an athletic and money generating powerhouse. Thus, the time is now to re-invest some of those funds where they will do the most good: the other universities. Those universities have room to grow, and can give a ROI far greater than Ohio St can give.

That is the weakest rebuttal used on message boards.
Yeah, but that wasn't one of Dr. Torch's finer moments, bless his heart.
All the more reason the crying response was exceedingly weak. Torch lobs one over the plate and this guy can't be bothered to even take a nominal swing.
