We already discussed the Punky QB helping out Haldi.
And, teaching the Huskies the Motor City Bowl Shuffle.

Google is failing me.
I'm trying to turn up the Detroit Lions' 1980 version of Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" in .mp3.
But I can't. :(
That was a fun season.

The only shuffling going on for the Huskies in the Motor City will be at the poker table in the MGM.

CUSA has already been mentioned as the replacement for the Big-12 in Independence.
Secondly, I'd love to see how many fans Ohio U would send to Hawaii. Or Toledo, or Miami, or BGSU for that matter.
Give me a break.
Kinda like that empty old Citrus Bowl, eh? (When UCF plays that is)
Toledo won the MAC last year and barely drew higher than a winless UCF team.
Save it.

While some Marshall fans state we are going to lose the GMAC Bowl now that they are gone - that is a false statement. By numbers alone, along with the fact of our success and talented teams that have gone there and won, we will keep this bowl and the MCB going forward. The Toronto Bowl will probably not happen anytime soon, if at all.
I've been told the MAC is working on several deals to be "affiliated" - and be a part of their choice of teams to choose from. That is a step in the right direction, but still, just two certain bowl bids every year. Having 6-6 BCS teams now available and for them to play a I-AA team every year makes the chances of the MAC getting more than three bowl bids in a year virtually impossible.
The MAC has no chance at the new Poinsettia Bowl or the Hawaii Bowl. We may become a part of the selection process for the Independence or Fort Worth Bowl. Don't expect the Liberty Bowl to come calling either, we already play one C-USA team and they do not want to play the MAC in more than one bowl.
I wish I had better into to pass on but right now the MAC is not able to financially support more than three bowls - at best, given the geography of the current bowls in place.

We're pretty good at ending our posts with 2 word action-verb phrases.

How many would UCF send, in the bizarro world scenario where UCF was positioned to receive bowl consideration? T

I would take any bowl anytime for Ohio. We would send a whole lot since it has been 37 years and counting since our last bowl trip 1968 Tangerine Bowl. That was pre-espn folks. Bobcats would jump on a trip to Hawaii in a heartbeat. It would be like the Rose Bowl for the Bobcats. Its not like we have to plan a trip every year. You saw how crazy we packed Nashville in hoops. Bobcats would make bowl people very happy. A New Orleans bowl would be great too. I drove from Athens to NO for the Jazz festival. We were out until 5am every nite. Trust me we Bobcats know when to party. The MCB is a great site. Great reward for MAC Champ and fans. GMAC bowl is nice too. Great food down there.

You're right, but he didn't do you much good.
I can't argue with the Florida weather advantages, and the growth of UCF. My point of disagreement is the comparison of the MAC and
C-USA. Neither conference will be mistaken for the SEC anytime soon.
I look forward to some bowl matchups next year, between the MAC and your new conference.

My understanding is that, as of this moment, a winning record is required to participate in a bowl game:
<a href='http://www2.ncaa.org/media_and_events/association_news/association_updates/2005/april/0428_12thgame.html' target='_blank'>http://www2.ncaa.org/media_and_events/asso...8_12thgame.html</a>
The Board also discussed, but did not reach a decision on how the 12-game season affects bowl eligibility. Board members did indicate their support for preserving the current legislation that defines bowl eligibility as a team with a winning record. During the 12-game seasons in 2002 and 2003, temporary legislation was passed to allow teams with a 6-6 record to be bowl-eligible, but that legislation has sunset.

If that was not an obstacle, Toronto would be a great city for us...
I believe a certain ex-First Lady turned Senator led the charge and killed that legislation.
Not quite. She had a hand in it, obviously. I'll say that she was ONE of the leaders. It is, after all, her JOB.
It actually started at the local level with the Franklin County Legistlature Chairman Earl Lavoie. She along with Sen. Schumer(D), Representative McHugh® and local officials received a letter from Mssr. Lavoie. Gov. Pitaki® then joined very shortly after. The "race to take the credit" worked very well in this case (it's so fun to watch).
No more than a week and a half later, the president killed the rule saying something about how he didn't know what some of his inmates in the State Dept were doing.
Clinton upped the ante by calling for a single official to be in charge of the northern border. I find it interesting that most politicians don't want to make things work better, they just want more people working on it.
Knowing that over a billion dollars of goods cross the border daily, I would hope that EVERY NY official (and every official from bordering states) would have worked to destroy this rule. The results of the rule would have been disasterous.
