Thought this was interesting:

[code:1]POLL: To MAC or not to MAC Reply

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would prefer
Results (total votes = 29):

The MAC in all sports 15 / 51.72%

The MAC for football only 12 / 41.38%

Football independence. 2 / 6.90%

As we all know, it doesn't mean squat what a small bunch of i-net posters prefer, but I do find it surprising that there is so much support for an all sports invite.

I dont believe there is much support. Most of us basketball first TU fans have given up on trying to relay the problems with all sports from the get go. I also heard that one reason this affiliation may not be all-sports from the get go is because of high travel costs for the non-revenue sports.

Temple will be in the MAC soon enough. A horrible mistake but it WILL happen. Temple is still the joke of Philly and will only hinder the MAC w/its problems.

No need to apologize, that fact really should be obvious. 03-razz

The fact that discussions are taking so long suggests to me that there are a multitude of questions and answers occurring on both sides. I believe that a good future for Temple would quickly erase what has happened in their recent past.

I'm betting that for Commissioner Chryst the key question he's asking Temple is this: "Will you make a firm, sustained committment to improve your football program? Give me details."

If Temple satisfies Chryst on these issues, I'm thinking he'll recommend bringing them in. In fact, like lots of others, I believe all this has already happened. Who among the rumored plausible future candidates for admission into the Big East is a better prospect than Temple? I don't think there is one.

Also, I'll bet that if the Big East had known earlier that some of their members were going to leave for the ACC, they would never have booted Temple.

All the non-automatic qualifying BCS Bowl conferences are going to have to take some risks in order to elevate their status. If after careful study, Chryst wants to make Temple one of the MAC's risks, I'm supporting him all the way.

Yeah, that's why they rushed out that offer for them to rejoin the fold so quickly.

And...

Mike Tranghese, probably was quoted as saying to the Temple AD... ...continue to field a completely pathetic football team, we don't care. 03-banghead

Maybe they should have a poll on how many kids gets arrested before the season starts. The basketball has always done well in this category looks lioke the football teram is getting after it now.
