I'm not here to diss nor praise the newest MAC member.
The relationship is what it is - minus the PR sugar coating.
The MAC is a midmajor conference in fundling levels and attendance but aspiring to climb higher plus gain more respect and stability.
Temple was looking for a solution to it's daunting football situation.
Both the MAC and TU have their strengths and minuses.
The better MAC football teams are pretty good.
The poor teams are really poor.
TU football will now have a better opportunity to improve and no one can forecast if or when that will occur.
Whether or not the relationship develops into what Chryst, others in MAC and TU envision can only be tested by time - say five years.
Let a grand experiment begin.
I would be mildly surprised at the end of five years if TU's w/l composite record in MAC football is .500 or better - unless a highly favorable home schedule and several bottom feeders comprise the Owls' schedule.
Meet me in Philly or Chicago in 2010 over a few lemonades and whoever is wrong pays the tab. PS: G Thorogood is one of my role models. One bourbon One Scoth and One Beer.
Welcome to this board. Please avoid alienating yourself and the Owls by making statements similar to UCF fans and administration two yrs ago about how they would win the division in the first year of MAC competition. I pledge not to bash TU for keeping other sports in A-10.

Thanks for the advice. Do not worry, no Temple Owl fan will claim we are going to win a division anytime soon. Hell we would be tickled pink just to get to mediochre, .500 ball.
Winning a few games will get us some confidence which has been sorely lacking in the past 10 years or so. But the past is the past. We are in a good league with solid teams. Finally we may be able to recruit some quality players now that they know they have a shot at going to a bowl game.
Remember the past 3 years have been a living hell for us. We had been shown the door by the Big East, none of us knew whether Temple would ever field a football team again, our best players opted for the NFL draft, and we lost quite a few very close games.
I am very greatful the MAC wanted us. I promise we will behave, (at least most of us.) Make sure sjdock and the JCrabens don't find their way over here. St. Joe fans have no business over here making trouble.

I can't even imagine what it would be like to be a dedicated fan and face the possibility of my team not existing any more. I'm in awe of your loyalty and genuinely feel for you guys.
I hope Temple finds the MAC to be a good home and is able to turn its football program around quickly.
