Walter Washington passed for over 200 yards, rushed for 67 and had 2 touchdowns on Toledo's defense last year so losing him to the draft as a junior had to hurt. Any word on who his replacement will be and how he's expected to perform?

The Starting QB will be Mike McGann. He is a big kid 6'6" who started as a freshman. He has a strong arm but has a tendency to force the ball into coverage resulting in a lot of ints. He sat out most of last year with a medical redshirt. They have now changed the offense on him three different years. If he stays healthy the offense might surprise quite a few people. The drop off after him is huge. Absolutely no experience!

McGann was their QB when we played at Temple in 2001. He was 5 of 17 for 60 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT's. He was sacked twice. Their backup QB also played most of the 4th quarter, but he was sacked 3 times in one quarter and looked worse than McGann. Of course that guy is no longer in the Temple program.
McGann does not seem to be a mobile QB, IMO. Mobile QB's have had much better success against Toledo than drop-back passers. Temple will need their running backs to keep the defense honest against us.

McGann's 1st game was vs Toledo, as a 2nd half replacement. He wasn't ready. He threw 3 int's vs BGSU as a fresh too. BGSU returned 3 turnovers for TDs including an onsides kick that went awry.
McGann must stay healthy. He had an arm when he came to Temple but he will be playing for his 3rd distinclty different Off Coord, believe it or not !!! I expect a solid OL and we have 2 reliable backs. Our recs are inexperienced but we have some athleticism and some hyped newcomers. We will compete w/ the MAC this year, rest assured...

3 different offensive schemes? What a nightmare for players.

The line better protect McGann because we have no viable backup.

Aren't three of your four games this year against Toledo, BG and Miami? Good luck with that!

Have to agree with Oddball here. No offense to Temple either........not too many MAC teams can compete with Toledo, Miami and Bowling Green to be honest.
