Armed with an academic scholarship under one arm, and a basketball under the other, University Heights Academy star Ravi Moss disclosed today he was going to attend the University of Kentucky, playing on the Wildcat basketball team as a walk-on.
"We met with Coach (Tubby) Smith this weekend and he was excited about me walking on," said Moss, who averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds this season as a guard for the Blazers.

University of Kentucky Sports Information Director, Brooks Downing, confirmed Moss' status as a walk-on in the 2002 season.

Moss has received offers from Appalachian State and Transylvania University, as well as spirited recruiting bids from Centre, Middle Tennessee State University, University of Tennessee-Martin, as well as other programs.

"My mother (Teresa) has always said I'm going to be a player for Kentucky, that I was going to play there and I would say, whatever Mom," said Moss with a laugh.

But, now that is an actuality, <a href="http://www.kentuckynewera.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?/200205/03+UK-in-05-03-02_sports.html+20020503+sports" target="_blank">Moss is ready to drive to Lexington and get going.</a>
