Contrary to speculation and rumor, life is good for lost-post hammer Jason Parker.

UK fans worried about the big man's recovery from a torn, then re-torn anterior cruciate ligament. Parker's academic eligibility was also subject to the always-operational rumor mill.

The player is fine on both counts, said his father, Jesse Parker.

The younger Parker, who figures to be UK's most physical and commanding low-post presence next season, had taken a two-week trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

He plans to return soon to UK to resume rehabilitation of his surgically repaired knee and take six hours of summer school to further strengthen his academic standing, his father said.

"He looks real good to me," Jesse Parker said.

This guy has had some very unfortunate events in his career. Test scores, blown out knee...

This is true.

I look for Jason to slowly work his way back into the lineup and have a BIG season. He's a bull under the basket. Something we needed last year (see the Maryland game)

I think Parker will be killin inside! Nobody will be able to guard him. And he space out the defense better for out gurads to hit open shots or drive to the bucket. <img border="0" alt="[Drinky]" title="" src="graemlins/drinky.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />
