Point being?

Point being is how can someone so-call choke in a game they were not expected to win against a team that happens to be the favorite over a higher seeded team this week.

I am just glad the Harris Poll ended this myth that was mainly on this board that somehow College Baseball was on the same footing as Men Basketball.

The only kind of Baseball this Nation follows in MLB.

With all this steroid scandals.....MLB is losing many fans. College baseball is filling that niche.....

Yep...facts are facts....and your team choked against SOUTHERN MISS in baseball, Rutgers in football, and Texas A & M in basketball...congratulations....

How can anyone talk smack to a team that went to a BCS bowl? I think all of us wish our team could play in the Orange Bowl.

With Yune nothing is impossible or too absurd.

While I don't hate college baseball this is an objective way to put an end to the myth of the "Big 3" college sports that I've seen trumpeted on this board time and again. There is no such thing.

Yeah, college baseball is sooo far behind women's basketball. It's growing in popularity and in the next five years it should be way ahead of women's hoops.

Maybe, maybe not. In 5 years you might not even have College Athletics. Fact is at this current time College Baseball is on the same level as College Hockey.

After leading 5 - 1 going into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Louisville Cardinals gave up five runs to gag to the Golden Eagles 6 - 5... lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao :shhh: :shhh: :shhh:,,,and then proceed to lose the fistfights in the brawl that they started by hitting a SOUTHERN MISS in the back........ lmfao lmfao lmfao

It is more likely IMHO that other sports like MMA/UFC could pick off some of those fans as well.

College Baseball problem is most of the better young talent is in the Minor Leagues.

Seriously man... College baseball is as far behind womens hoops as it is ahead of college hockey. 6 in 100 sports fans follow college baseball. To call it part of a 'Big 3' when it is outdistanced by WBB by 2 points and its 'peers'; mens basketball and football by millions of fans is a farce.

I don't think college baseball has many problems. Obviously it's not a popular sport in Rust Belt cities but it's popular in the South and the West. I still follow MLB but every year I get more interested in college baseball.....and UTEP doesn't even has a baseball team. I'm sure there's thousands of guys like me around the country.

On that I agree, College Baseball is bigger in the South, Southwest and out West. A problem IMHO that they do have and there is really nothing they can do about it is the Alum. Bats.

Now if they do want to get stronger in the NE and Midwest then College Baseball really needs to push the season back until at least the Middle of March.

The one thing that did happen in the favor for College Baseball was the NHL strike a couple of years ago. ESPN had no programing and they put on College Baseball and it help them get the exposure they need.

Nobody on this board has ever said college baseball is as popular as college football and men's hoops. To think that it's delusional. What many people have said here before it's that college baseball is gaining popularity and that it'll soon (or maybe it already did) replace women's hoops as the 3rd most popular college sport. Football will always be the king in college sports....followed by men's basketball. Baseball will always be a far 3rd choice.

I'm actually impressed that college baseball's popularity is that high, and that college football and Men's college basketball are that low. Only a third of sports fans follow college football? Less than 25% follow men's college basketball? That's lower than I expected. On the flip side, for every four college basketball fans there is a college baseball fan? A women's college basketball fan for every three men's college basketball fans. Those are pretty significant numbers that show potential, if you ask me. I read these numbers as being supportive of those that promote the college baseball being a significant player in the college sports watching market.

We don't get enough college soccer on television!! Given that SMU doesn't play baseball, I probably only watch the college world series and then only when CUSA has a team in it.
