For the game vs. Furman..Vandy offers

WSMV Channel 4 Pack - Only $44
Sept. 7, Furman Game
2 Adult, 2 youth tickets located in sections H, I, J
4 drinks provided by Coke
4 hot dogs
*Limited to availability

Nice deal, but sounds like they're needing fans. Probably another reason why the TN game was moved to Adelphia.

I'm a huge Middle Tennessee Blue Raider fan, but went to Vandy a couple yrs ago to see them play UT.

It was a home game for Vandy, but the stadium was at least 75% covered in orange. (I cheered for UT)

I wish VU would leave the SEC and make room for MT.

MT, beginning their fourth year in 1-A, is seeing their fan base grow (50% growth in attendance last year). But until MT becomes more dominant, everyone in Tenn will struggle with fan base until the Vols get hit with NCAA sanctions.

All of Vandy's fans are either dead, dying, or too busy looking down their nose at everyone else to bother with "other" message boards besides their own. We had one Vandy poster on Voltalk. All he did was whine, so he had to go. Typical of them, really.

Vandy's fans are at SEC offices in Birmingham, demanding why the SEC doesn't have badminton, croquet, and lawn darts as team sports.

Even if they did, they'd still prolly lose.

Vandy will stay in the SEC for at least a few more years based on two things alone.

1) Not that most people would care, but the women's basketball team is usually a top ten team. Women's B-ball is not nearly the cash cow that football is, but it is gaining popularity and does provide both Vanderbilt and the SEC with a nice chunk of money.

2) With many SEC teams going under the NCAA probe, they need at least one team that they can point to and say that there aren't any (major) wrong-doings there. Not to mention a decent football graduation rate (70%+). <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/angel.gif" />

...and they would kick a$$ at lawn darts!!!

And let's face it, we're like Wake Forest or Northwestern...we're an academic power in an athletic conference. We won't draw 70, 60, or even 50,000 for games, but as long as we have a hard working football team, that's all that should matter. If they give it their all, the wins will come.
