Nice job Cass.
Here is mine........
1) Florida
Zook's team looked like Spurrier was still coaching it. Outstanding offense, and defense played just as sharp. Complete domination.
2) Tennessee
Losing star players isn't helping them for the later games. But who needs em for Wyoming? Kelly Washington certainly was not missed last Saturday.
3) Georgia
Almost blew it big time, again. But credit the Bulldogs for a good win against a good Clemson team. Richt needs to choose soon between Greene and Shockey though
4) Arkansas
Bye week was nice for them. Think they're scared of Boise's passing attack? The Razorbacks put 3 on the Jim Thorpe list (best DB), more than any other NCAA team. They welcome the passing game.
5) South Carolina
Should be lower, but so many disappointed me last weekend. Should've won by more then 10. They're a young team that needs to gel quickly or else be in a world of hurt come SEC play.
6) Auburn
The Tigers desperately need an offensive threat at receiver. Cadillac is still the only weapon they have. With him, their offense runs smooth. Without him, like in the second half, they wilted.
7) Ole Miss
Really unimpressed with the first game. Trailed ULM for most of the first half, and Eli's stats were very mediocre (16-30, 1 TD, 1 INT). He should've had at least 3 TDs against these guys. Running game did fairly well though.
8) Alabama
For the first quarter, they played like a quality SEC team on a mission. The rest of the game, they were outplayed, outcoached, and outscored 34-17 by Middle TN State. Lucky to be 1-0 at this time.
9) LSU
Offense just looked completely inept out there. The Tigers seemed lost at times, and Mauck spent most of the day scrambling for his life. They played a great team in VA Tech, but they should have made this a game, and they didn't.
10) Kentucky
WTH was that?!!! Congrats to the Wildcats for pulling off a stunning upset of Louisville. Even more credit goes to the Wildcat D who shut down Dave Ragone and the Cardinal attack. This score sent a little alarm to the rest of the conference.
11) Miss. State
Kevin Fant, what were you thinking? Charging $400 worth of tires to the MSU credit card? That cost him and the Bulldogs dearly. I thought MSU would give Oregon a better game than what they gave the Ducks.
12) Vanderbilt
What can I say? They got waxed. Bobby Johnson's got his work cut out for him, that's for sure. We'll see how they do against Furman, Johnson's former team before taking over the Commodores.
These will prolly change a lot through the season, but from my eyes this weekend, here's how they all looked.
