COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina basketball player Issa Konare will transfer to High Point, coach Dave Odom says.

Konare, a native of Senegal, said earlier this year he likely would leave the Gamecocks, where he played little as a freshman.

Konare averaged 1 point and 0.8 rebounds in 17 games.

"In talking with him, we decided that relocation and a new opportunity for more meaningful playing time would be in Issa's best interest," Odom said.

Konare becomes the second Gamecock to transfer since the season ended. Sophomore Greg Taylor transferred to Wofford in May.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Sounds like Odom might be moving out the chaff to make room for more competitive players...
