The thing is, most of the bottom schools are the same way. As you list more, so will they. Unless you're hiding a couple of 4-star kids until a later date, you probably won't move too much.

ESPN shows Memphis with a top 25 class...another has us #93...rankings are all opinion and it looks like you're simply picking the poll that has USM highest.

That ESPN poll is ranking schools by the average grade of their graded signees. Memphis has only two graded signees. Florida Atlantic is ranked eighth in that poll. Mississippi is ranked lower than us but they have 18 graded players.

Let's hope that everyone improved themselves this year. What's that old saying about a rising tide? Anyway, if the conference gets better, then we ought to start beating BCS teams and other Division 1-A teams and that helps RPI which helps when bowl contracts are renewed and helps with TV ratings.

That's because you're misunderstanding how ESPN does their automated rankings. If scouts, inc gets tape on a prospect, they review him and then give a grade. If they don't review a prospect, they give a default grade of 40. With their automated ranking system they only factor in the grades of the prospects they've reviewed. Of all your commitments they've reviewed only 2 and those two have an average grade of 75.5. They've graded 2 of USM's commits for an average of 74.5, 8 of ECU's for an average of 74.1, 11 of UCF's for average of 73.4, 14 of UH's for an average of 71.5, etc. If Memphis had signed a player with a grade of 81 and he was the only prospect from your signing list that they graded, in the automated rankings Memphis would be #1 because of the high average grade produced by that one player. That's how come Florida Atlantic is #8.
