Tennessee-Chattanooga has been added to Vanderbilt's 2003 football schedule.

The Mocs will visit Vanderbilt Stadium Sept. 6. The game is significant because Vanderbilt and Tennessee-Chattanooga once played on a fairly routine basis but have not met since the Commodores escaped with a 7-0 win in the 1985 season opener.

Also, former Vanderbilt Coach Steve Sloan (1973-74) is the athletic director at Tennessee-Chattanooga. Sloan coached the Commodores to a 12-9-2 record, which included two victories over Tennessee-Chattanooga.

The addition of the Mocs means Vandy will have seven home games again next year.

2003 schedule:

Aug. 30: vs. Mississippi

Sept. 6: vs. Tenn.-Chattanooga

Sept. 13: vs. Auburn

Sept. 20: at Texas Christian

Sept. 27: vs. Georgia Tech

Oct. 4: at Mississippi State

Oct. 11: vs. Navy

Oct. 18: vs. Georgia

Oct. 25: at South Carolina

Nov. 8: at Florida

Nov. 15: vs. Kentucky

Nov. 22: at Tennessee
