With my golf game it does not really matter what type of equipment I use. I have had a set of Tommy Armour 845's for years and use an assortment of knock off drivers.
I have used my brothers golf bag which has about $3k jammed in it and still did not help me.
When I was a kid I golfed every day on the course in our back yard in California. Then I was playing with a set of Jack Nicklaus clubs I got from KMart and could shoot in the 80's regularly.
If I was to take up golfing regularly I would probably buy a new set of clubs but right now I just don't have the time and we only have one course on the Island, that is a placement course and that does not suit my game.
Hopefully this year I will get a chance to play more.

This is me as well. My irons are Spalding, I've got a great old Taylor Made driver, and last year my wife got me a White Hot 2-Ball putter, which is awesome (too bad I still suck at putting). I've got a nice 2-Iron Hybrid as well.
