This time there was no doubt. USM outnumbered Tulane fans
at the game in the Superdome Saturday by at least two to one and probably more. I think you could tell the Tulane players were demoralized over that fact. Tulane football can not survive another year under Scelfo.

We suck. Scelfo must go.

Punting on third down is the nail in the coffin. So symbolic.

Saints turned the corner with a new coach and a fresh face of the organization (Benson's daughter)...its time for Tulane to do the same.

Whatever Scelfo is trying to sell...no one in New Orleans is buying.

Bower said in his press conference that Southern Miss fans outnumbered Tulane fans 3-1. If it wasn't for the 17,000 Golden Eagle fans in attendance, nobody would have been at the game.

Side note...just ignore the "announced" attendance figure from the game.

I agree. Rice and SMU, our peers and competitors in the West in Football and in recruiting, have passed us. Scelfo's tenure needs to come to an end. A good coach can win at Tulane. It's a proven fact. We need a new guy in charge.

That's where we are after 8 years of Scelfo-ball. The few of us who still have the stomach to watch this mess were glad to welcome the Eagles to the dome. We had a few extra tickets and gave them to some Eagle fans.

I wish we could see you guys next year (with hopefully our new coach), but that's not to be.

Good luck the rest of the season and we'll see you guys in Fogelman/Turchin.

Ok, Ok I agree that USM had more fans there, but 17,000? Give me a break. You must have been drinking hurricanes on Bourbon before the game if you think that 8,000 people were in the Dome. I would say it was more like 4,000 USM to 2,000 Tulane. Just plain embarrassing.

Its understandable. We almost sold out for homecoming, then after getting raped by a very good VT on the road (Clemson looked worst than we did the following week against them) we barely had 25,000 show up for a very important ECU game. Win out and we could still win the East (lets Go Rice), at worst land in Birmingham or Mobile. Even with that I dread to see the attendence counts at our last two home games.

Actually, I wasn't able to go, but according to eye-witness accounts, Southern Miss had at least 15,000 fans. Maybe they were embellishing, but I'm just going by what I heard.

Don't worry, improvement will come with time. Hopefully Scelfo will get the axe after this season, and the Green Wave will begin to rebuild a competitive football team.

2007 should be one of our best baseball seasons to date, so hopefully we can get the best of y'all this year and not drop two of three at home again (much like 2005). We may even see each other in New Orleans for the C-USA Championship.

Basketball is a different story...

I was there. I'd say somwhere in the 9-12,000 range tops.
