how was the atmosphere for the game Saturday? I was just wondering because I was stuck here at work. How about the defense. Did they cave? I saw on the Cuttcliffe show that we did give up a few big runs. What did you guys think?

The atmosphere was NOTHING like a week ago. Very subdued feeling, almost like everyone was really still hungover from the Florida game. I know, myself, I was still pretty tired from all of the events of last weekend.
The funniest was with about :30 seconds left, the announcer gets on the PA and tells us not to run out on the field. Everyone that heard it around me just laughed at the irony of that statement. Umm, we just beat Arkansas St, sweetheart, not Florida.
Anyway the Rebels, my take on it was that it's hard to tell seeing how we just played Ark St. Much like the first of the year when we played LaMon, it was hard to judge because of the level of team we were playing. That being said, I was happy that our offense seemed to be clicking again. Eli looked relatively sharp, compared to the first 5 games. I was very impressed with Eric Rice TE, who got some PT. Man, he is big and is going to be a future factor in our offense, if not sooner. Running game looked ok, but it's hard to judge that when you've got 13 different RBs running the ball.
And the "D"? Well, nothing like last week, but not that big of a drop-off. They are still flying to the ball better and tackling better. In my opinion, all they gave up was a FG. The first TD was given to Ark St on a bad call which gave them a first and goal and eventually scored. And the second TD was very late in the game when all of the starters were out. So, my overall impression was "solid" but not dominating. Again, it was Arkansas St. We will get truly tested again this Saturday.

I'd say that is a fairly accurate assessment of last Saturday's atmosphere and ball game.

The memories are still returning to me. I'd say that the thing that bothered me was that they gave up a few too many yards on special teams. The last touchdown that Arkansas State scored was a softie and shouldn't have happened. We did look much better though. I know it was Arkansas State, but they have been playing well. We did what we needed to do. They ran the same pass play that Trey Fryfogle dropped last week and threw to Taye Biddle this time. No one caught him. That's what I like to see. Also, props to Trey Fryfogle for picking up that Bill Flowers fumble and getting an additional 10 yards. Sweet!

I think the guys above my post pretty well have it right. Next week is really going to show what our team is all about!
Really enjoyed meeting RebStill this past weekend. That brings the number of people I've met on the board up to five. So, I can truthfully say that there are 6 of us who really exist in this dimension!

You got that right, JBR. We don't know yet whether we are the team that pissed around with TT or the team that beat Florida. We are playing the Elephants on their savanna and we have always had a jinx when playing them. We find out Saturday whether we have gotten shucked of our clumsiness -- player -wise and coaching -wise -- or whether the Florida game was just a fluke. We are going to have to play smart, focused, intense ball, offense and defense, to win this one. Our coaches had better have learned how to direct an offensive offense. Our defense is going to have be like stink on the Alabama offense's &*&^.

Last saturday. . .last saturday. . .oh yeah. Came in around 11ish. Listened to one customer whine about their cell phone bill. Coffee break. More whining. More coffee.
LUNCH!
Sold 3 hot chicks a cell phone. Thank God the scenery's improving.
Whiners. Whiners. Whiners.
More whiners.
Angry dude cussing gets tossed by security.
Manager micro-manages me for the 40th time today (don't forget to breathe in!).
Whiners.
Check out! Freedom!
I'd say the defense was as stout as it always is, Saturday. I held people running off at the mouth, bumped the slot guys and penetrated the line.
The offense was a little shaky still. Too much coffee.
Home. Online. What a surprise. We spanked Ark. State. :snore:
