ECU has sucked for some time. There is no debate there. Terry Holland can get you a series against whomever but if you can't win the games, who really cares?
Holland has come in and fired everyone and brought his own guys in. At what point do his guys have to perform?
And 6 conference games in FB is retarded. Go to the SoCon or Southland if you want that. CUSA did that when we were a gypsy conference; we will never do that again.

6 games would be the anti-conference. For ECU, that may be what this is and what they want. But not for the rest of us. We need to build something here.
I have nothing against ECU, but if they feel this way, they should just leave. They could make a football schedule as an independent (2-3 games against BE, ACC, C-USA, MAC and a couple of others here and there). They could put their other sports in the CAA, in which they would be competitive in most sports, and, obviously, more than competitive in baseball

"Hollands guys" have been Pirates for exactly ONE year. How quickly do you expect them to completely rebuild and "perform"?

The CAA filled it's dancing card while the Pirates were away, and the CAA has no intention of expanding again. It's got the 12 schools in it now, and it will gain MAssachusetts, Rhode Island, Richmond, New Hampshire, Maine and Villanova as football only schools. Plus, Old Dominion is adding football, giving the CAA 7 all-sports members by the end of the decade, I suspect that if the CAA was going to expand to 14 in all the other sports, it would ask some of the new football only members first. Maine would be an excellent addition to the CAA and George Mason's recent run to the final four gives that conference some leverage with Villanova should there ever be a Big East split (like the non-fb schools mean squat without UCONN and Syracuse anyway, just a glorified Atlantic 8).
