"As to the Tigers' bowl destination, nobody had a final answer.

Ron Maestri, the representative on hand for the New Orleans Bowl, had hoped to stand at midfield and extend an official invitation to his Dec. 16 game.

Instead, he was one of three representatives of bowls feverishly working his cell phone from the field, trying to figure out what was going to happen with TCU, the C-USA program that announced it did not want to go to the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Ala., because of conflicts with exams.

It created a frustrating situation for the Tigers.

"Yeah, I am (frustrated), to be honest," said Tiger coach Tommy West. "They knew when their finals were when they signed the contract. They ought to honor the contract."

They even screwed up a celebration of a great season for our fans. What penises.

Wrong. TCU's 2 prior appearances in the Mobile Bowl were played on Dec. 20th and the 22nd. Never conflicted with finals until this year with the game being on the 18th.
