My hunch is that Norfolk is considered too out of the way and tough to get to for the majority of schools. Dallas is pretty easy to get to by air, there are so many hotels that many are pretty reasonably priced and lots to do. Just a guess. By the same token, this setup is just a freakin' cheap attempt to do something "different" and looks like crap. This commissioner should be **** canned and the competition committee cleared out and replaced, assuming there is one.

I get your points about travel and hotels, they probably are a big part of what went into the decision making process, but I would argue that it doesn't matter, and that those were stupid criteria for them to use. Relatively nobody is traveling to this thing. I am nearly 100% certain that there would be a better draw here in our little cul-de-sac than they get in Frisco at the Booplex. As you said, those in the league office are completely clueless and people should absolutely be fired, starting with Judy.

My honest takeaway from this is that nobody that makes decisions at CUSA gives 2 ***** about basketball. At least that is the image they project with these types of decisions.

No argument from me about your second point especially. I'll buy you \a beer the day we get the hell out of this conference. There are so many games, football and hoops, I go to watch ODU and not the other team.
