RE: Kent State vs Buffalo
Buffalo plays good defense and is very efficient with the basketball.
The Bulls have quite a few heavy hitters on their roster.
Junior guard CJ Massinburg leads UB in scoring at 18 points a game. He has earned All MAC honors in both of his first two seasons playing for Buffalo. He is also the teams leading rebounder. Right behind him in both categories is 6'8 junior Nick Perkins. Perkins averages 16 points and six rebounds per game.
Those are two of the ten players that average ten minutes or more on the floor for Buffalo. Two other players, 6'1 senior Wes Clark and 6'7 junior Jeremy Harris also average double digit points. "Must find balance."
Of those four players, Clark is the "worst" free throw shooter at 69%. That is actually quite a telling stat. Each of their 4 leading scorers shoots 70% or better from the line. That comes in handy when you reach the bonus.
This UB team is good. Next year's could be even better considering all of the production that they have coming back.
For the Flashes, I think tonight is about getting hot. If we see three guys in the box score hovering around 20 points, I think we could see a KSU K.O. But that is going to be a tall order. The University at Buffalo is MAC legit.
