Number of signees is VIP especially at our level. We are not looking at 5*s. We are looking at talent, size and Projection. A big part in evaluating and the most understated is the "interview" with the recruit and his family. It's a guesstimate. Recruiters are dealing with 17,18 year olds and kids change. Some kids really dont like football that much and others eat it up like raw meat to a mad dawg. So when guessing the best "guessers" have more choices to score a winner. I'm of the belief the coaches dont know who can play until the kids get on campus and even then they make mistakes.

This game theory is why the Bears traded up for Tribisky was a HORRIBLE trade. NFL draft pickers cannot pick the best QB in the draft more than 50-60% of the time. To move up 1 spot for a pick that is no guarantee and giving up 3 picks was ridiculous. So you dont get Tribsky - you get stuck with Mahomes or Watson.
