Starting a new conference is impractical. Won't happen for too many reasons. Improving the conference we have should be the goal. We can't kick anybody out either. What's done is done, unless you're really bad, like Temple was, to get kicked out of the Big East, so that isn't going to happen.

We all want tighter geographic divisions to save travel costs. You could do that by adding schools, but there would need to be added incentive, like more revenue from an extra game or two. If you could pull-off a 4-team playoff for a C-USA swelled to 18 members and 3 divisions, you might have something.

WKU, MTSU, Marshall, ODU, and Charlotte is a solid grouping. App State and ECU WOULD fit there well, and the Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana schools could be tight as well, but the politics are screwy.

First, UTEP doesn't want NMSU in C-USA with them. La Tech doesn't want ULaMo in C-USA with them. I think they're apathetic to ULaLa. UAB doesn't want Troy or USA in C-USA. I could start pointing to AAC schools, but that would be REALLY boring. (I mean, UCF would just die if it was associated with FAU or FIU. LOL! too soon?)

I like the idea of going big, really big eventually. Your eventual goal is to swallow the bottom of FBS and NOT separate from the P5 schools. That way you control the growth of FBS, consolidate TV markets, and push a massive voting block.
