While Marsh remained loyal, Davis also went thru more assistant coaches than any other UAB coach combined. Every year was a new coaching staff. Some of those were questionable also.

Don't forget the insane attempt to be able to allow Walter Sharpe to keep playing without going to class. Narcolepsy. Give me a break.

Oh, and no studying on road trips. It's one thing to actually practice this stupid policy, another to announce it to the world.

And this one may be harsh, but to blame the death of a parent on your inability to coach is weak. Lots of coaches have lost parents during the season and sometimes they take a little time off, but generally are able to continue to function. Davis just used it as an excuse.

Davis was able to develop some players. He was able to retain loyalty from the people who played for him, even some he ran off, but like was said earlier, it was past time for him to go.
