It appears that the team has just quit. Not really sure why. Huggins severely disciplined a kid (Teddy Allen) who was blazing hot but got kind of full of himself and that seems to be the pivot point for the season. Not sure now whether this is a locker-room rebellion or whether it's a collective mental issue ("We're gonna lose...") or a little of both, but WVU has now fallen to the bubble and is sinking fast.

I watch a decent amount of the WV games, Carter and Konate are great defenders, and Miles can be when he wants to. The problem is the rest of the team are average to poor defenders, and probably shouldn't be playing a full court press style. In previous years, Bob has had a solid 10-11 man rotation with interchangeable guards. This year he has been playing Carter a heavy 33-37 minutes a game, which is insane for the style of play. They looked dominant after 16 games, but may have hit a wall. Huggins probably should have dialed back on the press this year, as I don't think he has the horses to play that way.

When they get forced into a half court game, they look disoriented on both sides of the floor. When Konate and Carter get in foul trouble, which is likely with the aggressive defense, the dropoff is too severe.

BH is going to have to try to remake that team mid season if they want to recover. They would be better off maybe going to a less agressive zone press, and switching into a 1-3-1 , match up zone, or a box and 1 zone in half court
