Actually, he didn't come up with it. The Dems started this a while ago with the idea that owners shouldn't be getting tax benefits from citizens to build their playgrounds.

Republicans in congress jumped on board recently given the protests.

Trump wasn't the first. He's just the most recent.

But one thing is for certain: at this point there seems to be bi-partisan support for cutting tax breaks.


Imagine this -- we've seen the last great sports arena built in the U.S. From now on, budgets will be scaled given the lack of revenue/tax benefit.

I'm good with that. We can also extend it to college and high school sports too. Let them all stand on their own, or do it within some very strict subsidy guidelines. No more 75 million dollar high school stadiums. No more school district paid six figure coaching salaries. No more thousand dollar student subsidies so State U can pay a football conditioning coach 600 grand a year.

No more cable must take contracts either.

Let them pay their own way.

If this whole ordeal results in the end of corporate subsidies for stadiums that's another win. Liberal cities that cannot educate their children properly shoiuldnt be spending billions on stadiums
