What? I'm not outraged. I've been on the side of standing for the anthem the entire time. I'm just not particularly proud of the behavior of that side either. What's technically my side is lead by a POTUS who called the opposition "SOBs" in public.

No. The manufactured outrage was the media playing it up way too much. At first it was a good two-way conversation, then it started to pick up steam as the media now had to show national anthems during preseason (they usually didn't broadcast them until the playoffs). This further polarized it. Suddenly, all sides of the media were making it bigger than it was. It went from Kap to a vague "the players". None of the media was being honest about what was actually happening. This made it spread to other sports and to high school.

We quickly went from Kap generally being known as a stand-up Christian guy who gave to charity to being the worst man in America.

100% media driven outrage.
