Here's the crowd for the NSU game. 24K is not bad for a game against an FCS school to open the season. Especially since a lot of Tech folks are waiting until game #2 against Miss State the following week to attend.

What does the Tech stadium hold, 28K? Got a picture of the student/visitor side? I was listening to the game and it sounded like NSU had a decent crowd there. You could clearly hear a very loud cheer when they made a good play.

Yes, it holds about 28K now. There were only about 700 NSU fans in attendance. You can see them on the bottom left corner of this attached pic. The NSU band in white. This pic shows the visitors/LA Tech students side:

As I thought from the sound, NSU had a very good crowd there along with their band. Sometimes scheduling a local FCS is better than a FBS team. At least your fanbase knows them and the FCS school is no different than us FBS schools....

when we go to a P5 we bring a lot more fans than if we are playing say...Ball St. So to those NSU fans they are playing their "super bowl" just as the Tech fans would feel if Tech was playing LSU.

It makes a lot more sense playing a school a hour or so away than scheduling a FCS school 8 hours away.
