RE: Irma could become hurricane by Friday...
As I stated before we are over 100 miles inland and didn't even flood during 2015's 1000 year flood so we are staying put. Got a generator big enough to run the essentials, got enough fuel to run the generator for a while and if worse comes to worse I can always go get gas from my uncle's construction company yard tank if I need more. He's got a 2000 gallon bulk gasoline tank and I've hand pumped plenty of fuel in my life so it's no big deal.

Got plenty of food and water plus I've learned over the years how to properly disinfect water and there's a major creek a couple hundred yards behind the house.

The only real concern is at the top of the subdivision are some really tall poplar trees. Two years ago during a thunderstorm one broke off and blocked the entrance and exit of the neighborhood. If it happens it's only a minor inconvenience for as long as it takes my Husqvarna 350 to cut it into pieces small enough to pull out the road with a tow strap.

Like Hank Jr said many years ago.....a country boy can survive!
