You can, however, control who your mechanic is. Get yourself a new one, man.

I have a great mechanic. In your opinion, Pastner is a horrible coach, one of the worst, yet in his career he has outperformed Tubby during the same time period...including last year.

So, if Pastner is the worst and isn't qualified to coach us, what does that make Tubby? Less qualified.

I like how you limited the time frame to Josh's career, that's pretty convenient.

You are comparing apples to oranges, Josh coached in CUSA and the AAC, you have no idea how Tubby would have performed here, nor do you know how Josh would have performed at Minnesota or Texas Tech.

Coaching the top dog in a weak league is a lot different than coaching the runt of the litter in a strong league. I assume you would at least agree with that.

So yes, Josh's teams made the tournament more often, but it was hella lot easier to get there from Memphis than from having to rebuild Texas Tech (and he still made it anyway).

Actually, it is much more difficult to make the tournament in CUSA and the AAC than it is in the P5; it's not even close, so let's throw that nonsensical statement out the window right now............

A typical simple-minded answer from someone who refuses to recognize his bias against Tubby Smith to point of making absolutely absurd statements like, "Actually, it is much more difficult to make the tournament in CUSA and the AAC than it is in the P5". The discussion is about Memphis, not the conference as a whole making the tourney. You just look more foolish with every statement, Stammer.

JP made the tourney because Memphis was the best team in the weak CUSA virtually every year as has been stated. The discussion otherwise had nothing to do with conference comparisons. Try to focus, the discussion is about Memphis getting to the tourney. But thanks for all of the stats that certainly prove how weak CUSA was.

RPI
2011 - 32 #12 seed, Creighton 2017 #6 seed, Iowa State 2012/UCLA 2013/NC State 2015 #8 seeds, MAJOR screw job
2012 - 20 #8 seed, Syracuse 2011/Syracuse 2014/Oklahoma 2015 #3 seeds, Iowa State 2016/West Virginia 2017 #4 seeds, MAJOR screw job
2013 - 14 #6 seed, Purdue 2011/Georgetown 2012/Duke 2014/UCLA 2017 #3 seeds, Maryland 2015/Duke 2016 #4 seeds, MAJOR screw job
2014 - 30 #8 seed, screw job by one row

It is easy to make the tournament every year when your RPI is 32 or better and it is common knowledge that non P5 teams get passed over for P5 teams with inferior RPI's regularly. The conference was no help; we got screwed by the selection committee because of the conference. It made it tougher AND we got the shaft as far as seeding went almost every year. The funny thing is that Tubby got majorly screwed in 2013; getting a #11 seed with an RPI of 30; but then again Minnesota did have 12 losses.

Atlanta is sad, angry and frustrated...nothing to see here.
