I didn't even pay attention or care that you were the poster who linked the article.

Yes, the blog writer is not much of a source, IMO. Like Tennessee firing Dooley thinking they were going to hire Jon Gruden. Shaka was never going to Minnesota, as any college basketball fan knew.

Hardly sensitive. Just simply responding with facts to your response that was based in fiction.

Kinda how message boards work.

Bottom line, there were concerns by people connected to Minnesota about transfers, Tubby's management of personalities, and his overall ability to run the program--some of the same things we are seeing now, so let's not act like Tubby has been an A1 program running, drama free coach that will right the ship now the he has removed the "cancers" from the program.

Just because you don't like the response doesn't make it fiction, Saluki. This is an attitude you often display, unfortunately.

And we all get that you don't like Tubby. We also all get that you say your opinions are based in fact, but truth is you pick and choose data that fits your narrative. Like some random dude who calls himself "PJS" on SB Nation.

Truth is Shaka had no interest in the Minnesota job, never interviewed for it, never visited the campus . . ., and extended his contract at VCU the day after Teague fired Tubby.

I quoted a legit new source that indicated there was some degree of interest. You cite your own thoughts.

More importantly, the point (again) isn't whether Shaka was going to go to Minny, it was the state of the program under Tubby when he was FIRED.

The consistent narrative is that Tubby might not be the best recruiter, but he runs a solid program with low drama kids, and does things his way. Now that he's gotten the cancers out, he can coach HIS players and we'll start to see the rise of the program again.

My sole response was that he apparently had transfer, player, and program issues with HIS players at Minnesota that ultimately led to his being canned.

Minnesota
Hired March 22, 2007
First NCAA win March 22, 2013
Fired March 25, 2013

Minnesota waited 6 years for Tubby to finally win a game and then fired him the day after he lost his 2nd round game. The claim about him avoiding troublemakers and signing "his" kind of players is a load of crap. Tubby had a lot of transfers and his share of troubled players and obviously Minnesota had had enough. Then he goes to Texas Tech which is about as low as you can get on the totem pole.

Back to Tubby signing his type of player. Tubby's type of player is the player that requires the least amount of work and offers up the least resistance. When you are battling mostly mid majors for players in the 150-300 range you should land all of them without any kind of a fight.
