We have been through it before. Organizations function better when a leader is named.... not this 3 down to the wire, all being almost equal so let them all think they are the guy BS. I stick up for Carey all the time but this is pretty annoying.
The way Carey lauded Santa's leadership qualities, you have to think it's his job. But I get the dilemma of naming him the starter now. If he plays like **** and you have to replace him, it devalues the title of "you're the guy". If you're truly the #1, you should get time to prove yourself even if you play bad. But this program can't really go through that right now. It needs some positive results asap.
It's just so similar to 14. The older, adequate guy McIntosh/Graham, the intangibles guy Hare/Santa, and the athlete guy Maddie/Childers. Let's go with what worked then, intangibles guy.
The images from that emu game are just so hard to shake
Sometimes a player has to re-earn your trust. If Santa is the starter and plays well in a victory over BC, those EMU memories will be vanquished....unless you are looking for a reason to dislike him.
He didn't do that in the KSU game? ... and BTW, didn't we win the EMU game?
To a degree, yes. Enough to be optimistic. But I understand the apprehension. Consistency is vital. And that can't be demonstrated without a few more games.
