If we are signing Boston U and Arkansas State type players, would we not end up being similar to Boston U and Arkansas State. Or do they magically become better recruits when JJ offers them?

Can you remind me who did we beat out Ahmad Caver for?

According to Caver, nobody. As a High School Senior he had no offers, so he went Prep School. After that, a couple of Mid-American Conference schools were recruiting him but didn't offer.

There are so many high school guards that they get under recruited all the time. Just look at the transfer list the last 5 years. Almost all the players that transfer from a low/mid major to a team in a top 7 conference are PG'S or SG'S. It's in the 90% range, probably closer to 95% then 90%.

I know Caver’s history. I was using him to prove a point to the poster who “thinks” that a guy getting looks from A-State isn’t good enough
I guarantee that there are more Carvers than Cavers if we want to start counting. Anyway, this discussion is way off the original point which was to say it's a bit premature to say JJ is "killing it" based on the two recent signings. Didn't say they were bad, just that killing it is an overstatement.

These are the freshmen SCHOLARSHIP recruits that’s Jones has signed to the program. Obviously the jury is still out on Reece, but if Carver is your benchmark (of what’s not good), the only one I would say is a mistake is pilavios, however, he might have improved during his redshirt year (so maybe he is “let’s see how he does” guy)

Talley
Caver
Carver
Green
Pilavios
Godwin
Hueitt
Wade
Ezipke
Reece

I am choosing not to include Taylor or Baker because they were technically the previous staff’s recruits and I believe neither actually uncommitted when Jones came on board
