Ahmad Caver - 38%
BJ Stith - 42%

Frank Hassell - 53%
Gerald Lee - 53%
Chris Cooper - 44%

Having quality post players leads to a higher shooting percentage. This is a small sample size, but I strongly disagree that quality front court players are inefficient in the NCAAs. NBA is a different argument.

You can score at the rim without posting up. And fwiw, 40% from 3 equals 60% from 2. (though an adjustment for less free throw shooting would be required).

The best offensive teams in college basketball drive to the rim and shoot 3s. They don't post up with their big guys; they use them in pick and rolls; pick and pops, etc.

Fair points. Ultimately you have to play to your strengths. You just don't see many kids being taught at a young age to play with their back to the basket anymore.

Scoring close to the rim is more likely to draw contact and fouls. Thats a factor that continually gets brought up in the 40% / 60% argument.

I think we can all agree that ODU has been limited for several years now by guys getting playing time that cannot shoot. This includes starters. Stith and Caver would be shooting a much higher percentage if they had more scorers around them.
